Year 1

Welcome to year 1

We know that the transition from Reception to Year 1 can be big and scary for your little ones, even more so now, after having so much time away from school but we are here to make sure it is a happy one.

Please feel free to contact me on the email address at the top of the page if you have any worries or concerns that you would like to discuss with me. Please have a look at the bottom of this page for a little task for you to do at home.

At the bottom of this page is a document with tasks on how to prepare your child for year one.

We are looking forward to teaching your child this year and watching them grow.

Below is a video for you to watch with your child so you know what their time in year one will be like.

Below is a copy of the year one transition booklet for you to share with your child.

Year One Task

We would normal have a transition afternoon where you get to come and visit the classroom and get to know me and Mrs Millward and take part in some fun activities. Unfortunately this hasn't been able to happen this year so I thought I would set you a fun task to do at home.

It would be lovely if you could all draw a picture of yourself and write your name underneath it and then get an adult to email it over to me so that I can print them and create a display in the classroom for when you arrive in September. You can paint a picture of yourself, use pencil crayons or even create a collage. Try and make sure you picture is a4 size. Please don't send a photo of your child it needs to be their own art work :)

We can't wait to meet you!
