Mud, mud everywhere!

We have loved our forest school session today. We had a go at whittling and had so much fun in the mud!

Planting 

We have been working hard to plant lots of seeds. We can't wait to spend time caring for our plants and observing them grow. 

Forest School Fun

We had so much fun outside today. We explored the grounds made some bug houses and had lots of fun jumping in puddles!

Discovery Time!

We are loving spending lots of time learning in the classroom. We are really enjoying our new topic all about dinosaurs!

Mother's Day Assembly

We loved doing a special assembly for all of the ladies in our lives. We hope everyone that came enjoyed it.

Discovery Time!

A snap shot of a few things we have been up to during continuous provision time. We have made masks, dens, created pictures and models, had a campfire and lots more fun.

World Book Day!

We had so much fun dressing up as our favourite book characters. We started the day with a special assembly followed by lots of fun activities, story time with biscuits, meeting up with our buddies and acting out our favourite stories.

Ash Wednesday

Lunar New Year Celebrations

We loved learning all about Lunar New Year. We enjoyed making lanterns and dragon masks and doing food tasting and dragon dancing. Thank you Mrs Bailey and Miss Cromey for letting us invade your office. 

We made a church!

We worked together to make a church. We talked about the different features we would find in a church and how we would use the equipment in the classroom to make them. We even made our very own stained glass windows.

Time outside!

We love spending time outside. This week the weather has been very cold and icy. We were very excited to see that it had also snowed! 

Bird Feeders

We know that some birds fly away to hot countries in the winter but that some birds don't. We decided to make some bird feeders for them so that they don't get hungry over winter. 

Team work!

We worked together to build an obstacle course. We encouraged each other, supported each other and praised each other.

Dance - Circus

This term in pe we are doing dance and our theme is - Circus. 

We loved our first session we practiced walking on a type rope, pretending to be acrobats and even had a go at juggling with scarves. 

Forest School

We have really enjoyed getting back out in to the woods again. We have loved exploring and looking at how things have changed over Christmas. We had lots of fun playing its not just a stick!

A little show!

Well done girls you put on a fantastic performance. 

Praying with Paint

We had a lovely relaxing morning spend some quiet time alone with God. We enjoyed our celebration of the word service in class with our class chaplains. We then continued this by thinking about what the girls had said to us and listened to some music while painting pictures and quietly talking to God.

Pancake Day!

We loved having fun in class doing lots of pancake day activities. We loved watching Miss Barrett and Mrs Noble flip pancakes. Even though the day didn't quite go to plan due to a few technical issues we had so much fun. We did end up having pancakes later in the week and we loved them!

The Wild - Yuval Zommer

Our author of the half-term is Yuval Zommer at story time today we listened to the book 'The Wild' some of us were inspired by the story and the illustrations and used the construction and small world equipment to create our own 'wild'

Celebrations

In religion we have been learning all about different celebrations. We know that some celebrations can take place in a church and some do not. We have spend some time acting out weddings in our new wedding area.

Ready . . Steady . . . Write!

We have really enjoyed starting our new writing scheme in reception. In our first session we went outside and discovered a hole. We peered inside and predicted what we thought was inside we had lots of great ideas- fox, rabbit, hyena, wild dog, hedgehog and even a skunk having a bath.

Process Art!

We LOVED getting messy in our outdoor art lesson. We used our hands to create different marks using paint on fabric. We also experimented with cars, trucks, brushes and rollers. 

E.Y.F.S Christmas Concert

Gymnastics!

We have been learning how to jump and roll in gymnastics. We have also worked hard to carefully move the equipment carefully as a team. 

Advent Art

We have been learning all about Advent and the meaning behind each of the candles. We have created some beautiful pieces of art work using oil pastels.

Middleton Care Home!

We have made Christmas cards for the lovely people at Middleton Care Home!

We hope they have put a smile on their faces.

Diwali

We have been learning all about Diwali. We have made Rangoli patterns, made diva lamps and even had a go at Mendhi patterns. 

Role Play!

We have loved dressing up and retelling the Nativity story!

Nativity Story

We have created some fabulous Nativity scene artwork!

Advent Retreat!

We had a special visit from 'Just Youth'. We started the day with a special assembly followed by a workshop where we got to learn a little more about Advent and make our very own Advent hats. 

WE WILL REMEMBER THEM!

We have been learning all about why we wear poppies in November. We have created some beautiful poppy artwork, produced some writing about Remembrance day. We took part in our very own Remembrance service outside and a meditation session inside. We spent time thinking about and praying for all those affected by war. 

Bonfire Night!

We have had lots of fun learning all about Bonfire Night. We know all about bonfire night and how it started. We talked about how to stay safe during bonfire night. We made firework biscuits and then we ate them while we watched a virtual firework display.  

Rosary Beads

We have been learning all about the Rosary and the importance of the month of October. We made our own Rosary beads 

Discovery Time!

We have loved exploring our classroom and continuing our own learning in continuous provision. We love discovering new things!

My Family

This week we have spending some time talking about our families. We have drawn pictures to show who is in our family. 

Self-portraits

We have had lots of fun using paint sticks to create our very own self-portraits. We can’t wait to see them on display. 

First week of School

We have had a lovely time exploring our classroom and making new friends. 

Meditation - Spending a little time with God!

We took part in our very first meditation session. We sat quietly throughout. We joined our hands, made the sign of the cross and spent some time listening to some music. While we listened to the music we said little prayers for the special people in our lives.

Little Red Hen

Today we helped the Little Red Hen make some bread. We mixed the ingredients together, kneaded the dough and baked the bread. We tasted some of the bread we made and we thought it was yummy!

Welcome Assembly!

We loved performing in our very first assembly. We did feel a little bit nervous but loved seeing our buddies again and having our families and friends watch us be formerly welcomed into the school. 

Miss Barrett and Mrs Noble said they were incredibly proud  us all and as a treat for being AMAZING we had a movie afternoon with some treats!

First Day at School

We have loved meeting our new friends.
