AUTUMN TERM

Music - Rhythm and Notation

We have been using instruments to begin to play a simple tune. We began to learn about the time value of longer and shorter notes (crotchets and quavers). We practised our performance in pairs and small groups.

Science - Skeletons and Muscles

We have been learning about vertebrates and invertebrates. We have also been learning about animals that can be classified as endoskeletons and exoskeletons. We have been learning the names of many important bones and their functions. We had a go at making out own “working hands” to demonstrate how muscles work together to pull bones and move them.

Maths - Number and Place Value

We have been developing our understanding of place value with numbers up to 1000. We have used lots of practical resources, part-whole models and number lines to help us with this.

Religion - God’s Wonderful Creations

We have been learning all about the Creation Story in Genesis. We took a trip outside into our school grounds to observe and draw all of the wonderful things that God made.
